Chorthopodisma cobellii is a species of insect in the family Acrididae.
Description
Chorthopodisma cobellii is similar to Pseudoprumna baldensis. Wings do not exist. The hearing organ is reduced to small remains. The body is light green colored. This species has in contrast to other wingless mountain locusts a strong shortened dark band on the flanks of the body.
Distribution and mode of life
This species is endemic to the Italian Alps. It is only known from a small area around the Monte Pasubio in altitudes of 1,600–2,200 metres (5,200–7,200 ft). Adult specimens can be found from August to October.
