Precis antilope, the darker commodore, is a species of butterfly in the family Nymphalidae, found in the dry season and is[2] native to Subsaharan Africa.[1][3] thumb|left|The wet-season form (f. simia) from Eritrea The wingspan is 40–55 mm in males and 50–60 mm in females.[3]
The flight period is from December to March.[3]
The larvae feed on Coleus and Plastostema species.[1]
