Intel 471 is a cybersecurity company that specializes in providing actionable threat intelligence to organizations worldwide. It was founded in 2014 by Jason Passwaters and Mark Arena.[1][2] Intel 471 Inc. is incorporated in Wilmington, Delaware, US.[3]

History

Intel 471 Inc. was founded in 2014 by Jason Passwaters and Mark Arena.[1][4] Mark Arena held the CEO position until 2023, while Jason Passwaters served as Vice President of Intelligence.[5][6][7][8][3] The company started as a self-funded venture and remained so until September 2021 when it received a strategic investment from the private equity firm Thoma Bravo.[9]

In 2014 Intel 471 introduced its Adversary Intelligence product that provides insights into the methodology of top-tier cybercriminals.[10][11]

The TITAN SaaS Platform that delivers curated CTI information and insight from dashboards and intelligence reports curated by the company's global analysts for visibility of the organization's threat landscape was launched in 2015.[12][13]

In 2018, Intel 471 introduced Malware Intelligence that provides ongoing surveillance of malware activity in near real-time.[4][14][15][16]

In 2021 it received a strategic investment from the private equity firm Thoma Bravo.[4][12][17] It was also shortlisted in Inc. 5000 in 2021 among the fastest-growing privately held companies in the United States.[1]

Co-founder Jason Passwaters became the company's CEO in February 2023 and Mark Arena moved into an advisor role.[4][3]

In 2023, Intel 471 acquired open-source intelligence automation startup Spiderfoot.[18][19][20][21]

Intel 471 supports the ICMCP Angela Nichols scholarship fund that supports the growth and advancement of minorities in the field of cybersecurity.[22]

Intel 471 provides global 2000 financial institutions, retail businesses, pharmaceutical firms, energy and gas providers, and government agencies worldwide with services and products for protecting digital assets from cyber threats.[9][23][24][25][26]
