Summary

Description

1912 Simplex Model 50 Toy Tonneau by Quinby.
In 1907, the assets of Smith and Mabley, Inc., the original producers of the Simplex, were purchased by Herman Broesel Sr. He was very passionate about racing, so he redesigned the Simplex so it could reach speeds of 90 mph. Affluent members of American society began to buy Simplex cars. Simplex always had the latest body designs. This Toy Tonneau built by J.M. Quinby of New York has a 50 horsepower, 10-liter, 4-cylinder engine and was one of the most expensive motorcars of the Brass Era.
