Summary

Description
English: 53-foot reefer container home, with 4–5 kW of thin-film solar on the roof. It could be primarily made out of plastic/fiberglass so that it doesn’t rust or corrode like metal; metal could still be used where needed, it doesn’t need to carry a 50,000 pound load. There are eight cast-in-place embedded deck-cones in the concrete, made of fiberglass; the container could either just sit on top of those or be engineered to twist-lock with fiberglass corner posts. Underneath are water and sewer lines, which can be heat-taped to keep them from freezing, and there is a drain to get rid of any water that gets underneath; this could also help keep the area warm, since the ambient temperature of underground air is usually warmer than cold winter weather. Wiring and utilities could run through the walls and ceiling during manufacturing of the container. Sill seal could be placed under and around the perimeter of the bottom of the container to keep the area underneath from freezing in the winter; it would stay above 32 degrees, similar to an insulated garage. The heat pump condenser unit would be in the forward head area, and it doesn’t have to be industrial-sized to refrigerate or freeze; it just has to maintain approximately 70 degrees. It could also have multiple wall-mounted indoor units for indoor climate control in both rooms. It could have protective materials on both ends to protect the glass during transportation.
