Summary

Description Postcard photo of Chesapeake and Ohio Railway's "500"-a coal-fired steam turbine locomotive.
Date Card is undated. This locomotive was new circa 1948-1949 and was part of their exhibit at the 1948-1949 Chicago Railroad Fair. However, these units were beset with various issues and were said to never complete a passenger train run without some type of problem along the route. They were removed from use and scrapped by 1950.
