Description Captioned as "Hel". A stern-faced and somewhat gnarled Hel, draped with a blanket but otherwise nude, looks to the right and points to the left while sitting on a stone ledge. Behind her, robed and cloaked figures pass by towards the direction in which Hel is pointing. Beside Hel stands stands a rooster facing to the right (a soot-red rooster is described in Völuspá as residing in Hel), and below the ledge a hound (likely Garmr) also looks to the right.
