Skeleton of a young male narwhal (Monodon monoceros) currently at display at the Ghent University Museum of Morphology (Faculty of Veterinary Medicine) as part of a permanent loan by the Royal Belgian Institute of Natural Sciences. The cadaver of this animal was found on the banks of the river Scheldt (Schelde) near Bornem, Belgium on the 27th of April, 2016. After necropsy, the skeleton of this animal was prepared and assembled by Patrick Vervaet (Department of Morphology, Ghent University).The background features the skeleton of a pilot whale.
