Yeshivat haMekubalim founded in 1737 by Rabbi Gedaliah Hayun for the study of kabbalah, Jewish mysticism. During the 1948 War, the building was destroyed. After the Six Day War the building was restored by Rabbi Meir Yehuda Getz which reopened it
