DescriptionTyrannomimus UDL.png
English: Tyrannomimus is an ornithomimosaur from the Early Cretaceous, and a basal deinocheirid. Its name is a reference to one of its pelvic bones that bore a similitarity to that of tyrannosauroids. Prior to the discovery of Tyrannomimus, this feature had been thought to be unique to the tyrannosauroids. Tyrannomimus was a fairly small ornithomimosaur at about 2.5 m in length. Like other ornithomimosaurs, it was probably covered in ostrich-like plumage, and was a strong runner. Evidence suggests that it was mainly herbivorous, however it is likely that Tyrannomimus was an omnivore, supplementing its diet with small animal prey.
