The '''International Livestock Research Institute'''  or '''ILRI''' is an international agricultural [[Engineering:Research institute|research institute]] within the [[Organization:CGIAR|CGIAR]] – formerly the Consultative Group for International Agricultural Research.<ref>{{Cite web |title=International Livestock Research Institute, ILRI {{!}} socialprotection.org |url=https://socialprotection.org/connect/stakeholders/international-livestock-research-institute-ilri |access-date=2023-05-29 |website=socialprotection.org |language=en}}</ref> It was established in 1994 by merger of the International Laboratory for Research on Animal Diseases in [[Place:Nairobi|Nairobi]] in Kenya, and the International Livestock Centre for Africa in [[Place:Addis Ababa|Addis Ababa]] in Ethiopia.{{r|plan|p=6|ilri1995|p2=1}} It is a non-profit, non-governmental organisation.{{r|phd|p=71}}
