The Research Center of Economics, Land and Environment (abbreviated as CRETA) was created in Pisa as a center of independent research and as a link between university research and companies in the city, in order to design and implement plans turning theory into best daily practices and transfer to the companies the benefits of the latest research and help to raise their level of awareness.
In the first year of life, the association has been moving in different sectors, addressing issues related to sustainable development and the local economy, stimulate the creation of Districts of Social Economy, experiences of local currency, promote Ethical Finance and Fair Trade & Solidarity.
The project led to the creation of some art installations and a maxi eco-screen video projection. The work was presented and explained to the audience at two events, cultural and environmental issues in collaboration with other associations and local businesses in order to raise awareness and further stimulate people about the possibilities, practical and creative offers from recycling. With the time more and more time and attention went to issues related to energy and recycling. After local analysis combined with personal knowledge of organizations and companies working in the field of renewable energy and sustainable design in Pisa, finally CRETA decided to contribute towards more training among the public in order to promote knowledge of the renewable energy sources and promote their use, in other words, to spread awareness.
