The Cognitive Research Trust was founded by the Maltese physician and cognitive specialist Edward de Bono in July 1969. The trust uses a number of thinking tools based on the premise that thinking is a skill that can be developed and learned. CoRT lessons have been taught in schools worldwide, including the third world. Bangladesh has profited by application of CoRT tools.[clarification needed][1][2]
