Macteola segesta is a species of sea snail, a marine gastropod mollusk in the family Mangeliidae.[1]

There is one variety : Macteola segesta cinctura Hedley, 1922

Description

The length of the shell varies between 4 mm and 6 mm.

The variety Macteola segesta cinctura is characterized by rather more prominent ribs, and by a girdle of solid black which replaces the usual zone of short broken spiral lines.[2]

Distribution

This marine species occurs off Queensland, Australia, New Caledonia and Mauritius.
