History
BABA FARID INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY (BFIT) is a self-financed private college affiliated to HNBGU and was established under the aegis of Kartar Educational & Cultural Society in 2002.
Campus
BFIT is situated in the foothills of Himalayas, Dehradun. Campus is located in the centre of the city at Chakrata Road, Sudhowala and is 9 km away from the tourist attractions such as FRI (Forest Research Institute) and IMA (Indian Military Academy).
Academics
BFIT has 30+ undergraduate courses and 25+ postgraduate courses. The institute implements courses with a semester-based system and each semester consists of 6 months.

BFIT TECHNICAL CAMPUS is approved by AICTE and is affiliated to UTU.[1] BFIT Institute of Science & Research is affiliated to HNBUMU, Approved by Govt. of Uttarakhand. It also has an MOU signed by the National Dairy Research Institute (NDRI), Karnal (Haryana) for Technical and Logistic support and Anthropological Survey of India “Anthropos” Govt. of India. BFIT is an ISO 9001-2000 certified Institution. Awarded with National Education Excellence Award 2017 [2]. BFIT is self-financed institutes in Dehradun, Uttarakhand to have an approval from National Service Scheme. BFIT is also approved by UACS (Uttarakhand Aids Control Society), Govt. of Uttarakhand for Red Ribbon Club, an initiative of NACO (National Aids Control Organization), Govt. of India.
