A legal transaction (Latin: negotium juridicum; German: Rechtsgeschäft; French: acte juridique), also known as legal act, act-in-the-law, act at law, and juristic act, is an important concept in civil law. It is "the means by which legal subjects can change the legal positions of themselves or other persons intentionally".[1]
