Deborah S. Cummins, Ph.D. is an American bioethicist. She is the director of research and scientific affairs at the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.[1]

She has been a voting member of the U.S. Medicare Coverage Advisory Committee, and was a member of adjunct faculty in the Medical Humanities Program, Department of Medical Education, University of Illinois College of Medicine in Chicago . Previously, she was the Associate Director of the Ethical Force Program at the American Medical Association and Senior Program Manager at the National Patient Safety Foundation.
