In macroeconomics, SIMIC stands for Severely Indebted Middle Income Country. This was defined by the World Bank in 2004 as a country with an annual income of between $736 and $9,075 per capita, a debt/GNI ratio of at least 80%, and a debt/export ratio of at least 220%.[1]
