Nuno Pires is a bioinformatician[1] from South Africa .[2] He is the co-founder of Altis Biologics.[3]

Career

Pires founded Altis Biologics with Nicolaas Duneas[4] in 2002.[5] He is the chief executive of business development at the company.[4]

In 2012 the company won the Africa SMME Awards in the Industrial Sector category.[6]

In 2014, Pires and Duneas won the Innovation Prize for Africa.[7] They received $100.000 for their Osteogenic Bone Matrix (OBM) innovation.[8]

Pires is a board member of the Licensing Executive Society South Africa.[9]
