Timothy D. Korson

Timothy Dale Korson, Ph.D. (born December 12, 1952) is a Certified Scrum Trainer (CST), Certified Large Scale Scrum Trainer (CLT), Certified Agile Leadership trainer, and the founder of Qualsys Solutions. Dr. Korson is best known for his contributions to Agile Product Development starting in the mid-1980s with Object Oriented, iterative/incremental, technologies, them moving on to eXtreme programming and currently focusing on Scrum. He has given over 100 talks at conferences and published over 30 articles and papers.

Biography

Dr. Korson earned his B.A. with a major in Mathematics and French in 1974 from Atlantic Union College. In 1981 he graduated from Ohio University with an M.S. in Mathematics with an emphasis in Computer Science and applied math. He then earned his PhD in computer Information Systems in 1986 from Georgia State University. His dissertation was "An Empirical Study of the Effects of Modularity on Program Modifiability.[1]

Tim has spent most of his career as an industry consultant, but has also spent time as a University Professor. He taught computer science at Clemson University, and was the founding Dean of the School of Computing at Southern Adventist University.
