Scoparia penumbralis, the dark-brown scoparia moth, is a moth in the family Crambidae. It was described by Harrison Gray Dyar Jr. in 1906.[1] It is found in North America, where it has been recorded from Alabama, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts , Michigan, Minnesota, Newfoundland, North Carolina, Nova Scotia, Ohio, Ontario, Quebec, South Carolina, Tennessee , West Virginia and Wisconsin.[2]

The wingspan is about 12 mm. The forewings are smoky brownish grey with whitish lines, edged by dark narrow shades.[3] Adults are on wing from May to September
