Tell Kashashok (أخبر كاشاشوك) is an archaeological site in the Khabur River Valley,[1] of Northern Syria.[2]

The site is dated by pottery finds to the latter neolithic era,[3] and early Dynastic era.[4]

The site was excavated by the Directorate General of Antiquities of Syria.[5] However, the site has only received preliminary archaeological survey work and given the ongoing conflict of the Syrian civil war, excavations for the foreseeable future are unlikely.[citation needed]

The archaeology at Tell Kashashok shows levels from the early Dynastic era including a destruction layer,[5] and an early adoption of cuneiform. It may have been known in antiquity as Kiš.[5]
