Marlierea is a genus of flowering plants in the myrtle family, Myrtaceae described as a genus in 1833.[2][3] It is native to tropical regions of South America, the West Indies, and Costa Rica.[1][4]
Molecular phylogenetic analyses indicate that Marlierea may belong within the large genus Myrcia sensu lato, along with a few other closely related genera.[4][5]
