Biip.no is the second largest Internet-based community in Norway [2] (after Facebook) with more than 450,000 users and profiles[3] (as of December 16, 2011). It was founded on June 1, 2005 by Erling Piken Andersen, Bo Myras and Ozan Ozerk, and is owned by TV 2 TV 2 AS, a Norwegian news company, the Danish publishing house Egmont and the founders. Users use nicknames instead of real names. Users' profiles are visible to all other users.
Biip.no was sold to TV 2 AS and Egmont for a estimated 20 million USD.
