Ready Team One is an Australian game development studio co-founded by Chris Cheng, Scott Whiteley and James Tang in Perth, Western Australia. The company is known for its use of virtual reality (VR) technology.

History

Ready Team One was co-founded in 2018 by Chris Cheng, Scott Whiteley and James Tang in Perth, Western Australia.[1][2][3]

Initially self-funded, the company began developing in-house VR games and in 2018 developed the first full body and finger tracking VR system in Australia (unchallenged as of 2022) which offers one-to-one in-game body tracking for superior VR immersion. The gaming studio provides a free roam virtual reality experience to gamers.[4][5]

In 2020, the company was awarded VR/AR Game of the year, WASCA Innovation in Game Design 2020 Award, and was listed as a recipient of the Epic Games MegaGrant for their efforts in free-roam VR game design.[6][1]

Ready Team opened their now flagship VR experience location in Perth in the second half of 2020 before expanding to Europe via a licensing model in 2021.[7][8]

As of February 2022, Ready Team One has developed three VR games that can be played at their VR experience centers. A fourth game is being developed by the studio that will be released during the mid of 2022.[9]
