Biology:Paleoproteomics
From HandWiki
Short description: Field of molecular science
Paleoproteomics is the study of ancient proteins. It is a novel and fast-growing cross-disciplinary field of organic chemistry, biology, archaeology, history, conservation studies, palaeontology and palaeoecology. Ancient protein research has offered insight into past diets, health, disease and environmental changes.[1][2] Since ancient proteins tend to be more resistant to degradation than ancient DNA,[3][4][5] they are also important in investigating evolution and phylogeny. This field has wide applications and more information can be found on Ancient protein.
