ChannelEngine is a multinational e-commerce company. The company provides marketplace management software (also known as marketplace integration or channel integration software), which is used by online sellers to manage multiple digital sales channels through a single integration.[1]

In November 2022, TikTok entered a partnership with ChannelEngine to encourage more sellers and buyers to use the TikTok e-commerce platform[2].

As of March 2023, the platform is used by more than 8,100 brands to sell more than 6 million products, across more than 200 digital sales channels worldwide[3].

Headquartered in Leiden, The Netherlands, the company also operates offices in Munich, Dubai, Singapore, Melbourne, Toronto, and New York.

History

ChannelEngine was founded in 2013 by Jorrit Steinz in Leiden, The Netherlands[1].

  • In November 2018, ChannelEngine received US$1.26 million in funding during a seed round[4].
  • ChannelEngine raised US$6.04 million in Series A funding in January 2021, to fund a global rollout of the platform. The funding round was led by INKEF Capital, in association with existing investor Airbridge Equity Partners[5].
  • In March 2022, ChannelEngine completed a Series B funding round, led by Atomico[6]. This raised an additional US$50 million from new investors like General Catalyst, in addition to existing backers[7].

Products and services

The company's marketplace integration software enables sellers to connect with multiple sales channels, using a single integration with their own back-end systems, thereby consolidating their technology stack. Using marketplace integration software, businesses can connect multiple sales channels with their own e-commerce software, ERPs, BIs, WMSs, or PIMs.[8]

Marketplace integration software typically also includes tools for optimizing sales and administration processes[9]. These can include automated repricing, content management, automated translation, currency conversion, smart rounding, stock and order management[10][11].

Awards

ChannelEngine has been recognized for several awards and achievements including:

  • 1st place (Best Solution for International Expansion), E-commerce Germany Awards (2023)[12]
  • Gold (Innovative Achievement in International Expansion) & Bronze (Innovation in B2B Services), Middle East & North Africa Stevie® Awards (2023)[13]
  • 1st place (Retail Technology), Deloitte Technology Fast 50, (2021)[14]
