Template:Metal Gear chronology

Note: Please do not include the numbers (MGS2, MGS3 etc). The numbers only refer to the order in which they were released and have nothing to do with the fictional chronology, which is not related (for example MGS3 comes before MGS2). Also, not every game has a number, so they should be left out for the sake of consistency too. Non-canon titles, including Snake's Revenge, Ghost Babel, and the Acid games should be omitted from inclusion. Sources: Siliconera, Crunchy Roll, Joystiq, Facebook, Machinima, Game Informer. The full names and numbers of each game are given in the main template. Additionally, the dates given in this template are the years in which the games take place, not when they were released. For example, while the original Metal Gear Solid game was released in 1998, it takes place in 2005.
