CreditPilot PLC (or Credit Pilot PLC)[1] is an international FinTech company, based in Cyprus and active in BFSI arena. Its main areas of engagement are platforms for MNOs and MVNOs, retail fintech platforms, acquiring, ESPI (Enterprise Scale Payments), as well as operating financial regulated companies[2]. The group is mainly active in B2B and B2B2C sectors, with plans to introduce a B2C product in 2019.
History
CreditPilot was established in 1998 as a FinTech spin-off from Megafon, one of the largest mobile network operators in Russia. Shortly after its establishment, CreditPilot began rendering services not just to its former parent company[3], but to numerous other MNOs and service providers in Russia, including banks, utility companies, retail[4]. The initial array of services offered by CreditPilot was mainly focused on payment kiosks and acquiring, however, starting from the mid 2000s, CreditPilot began to explore other markets, opportunities and areas of expertise, such as SaaS services and establishment of regulated companies, banks and remittance[5].
This expansion helped CreditPilot grow, all while keeping the company's key focus on providing its business partners with a reliable payments infrastructure. Following a change of ownership in 2010, CreditPilot started a pivot towards processing, FinTech products, providing ready-to-go platforms to its partners, instead of simply providing services[6].
With the growth of its client base, CreditPilot began an organic expansion into the European market, becoming a key player in the sector of regulated companies: banks, remittance companies, payment institutions, etc. In 2018, the company began a restructuring process on the basis of CreditPilot PLC, the result of which should be the company’s listing on the Cyprus Stock Exchange by the end of Q4 2018, with the aim to become a solid presence in the Frankfurt and the London Stock Exchanges, too. CreditPilot took part in Mobile World Congress Shanghai 2018, where it presented its Any2Any platform[7][8].
Products and services
CreditPilot's major focus lies in the transactional and processing platforms that act within a financial market infrastructure and require regulated licenses to operate. As such, CreditPilot offers its clients several proprietary solutions:
- Any2Any – a platform that allows MNOs and MVNOs to provide financial services to their clients[9]. The platform can be rolled out onto any infrastructure[10]. The managed services version provides MNOs and MVNOs with products and services that go beyond a barebone transactional platform, and include license arrangements, merchant connections, and the ability for MNOs and MVNOs to have a seamless operation in financial services, thus saving them the time and money that would otherwise be spent on a costly development of internal competencies[11][12].
- Retail FinTech is an array of products from CreditPilot designed to take care of its end-clients. Solutions include payment kiosks with management and back-end infrastructure, POS-networks, and agents automation networks that allow retail shops to seamlessly and efficiently provide both payment and remittance services.
- CreditPilot also provides acquiring capabilities for both online and brick & mortar merchants, all through its proprietary payment gateway that allows the following payment methods: Visa, MC, UnionPay, WeChat, a variety of e-Wallets, and custom e-Wallets created specifically for merchants[13]. The majority of CreditPilot products and platforms are available as a managed service, with a range of VAS telecom companies can offer its end-clients, all while being in range of flexible pricing options for acquiring, core banking on demand, remittance core on demand, local and international peer-to-peer remittance, payment kiosks, settlement and e-Wallets.
- In addition to the proven B2B/B2C model that has been the core of CreditPilot's business, the company is developing an innovative B2C payment method aggregator and extended distributed payment system that is set for launch in 2019[14]. After becoming operative, it would consist of e-Wallet, Blockchain transport, payment method aggregation, global payment remittance system and cryptocurrency capabilities.
