Magical is an American software company and an eponymous browser extension that automatically fills out forms and performs repetitive tasks on web pages.[1][2][3][4]
History
Magical was established by Harpaul Sambi, Prashant Viswanathan, Rosie Chopra, and Zach Piepmeyer on September 1st, 2020, in San Francisco, California. Sambi, one of the co-founders, had previously launched Careerify, an HR tech startup that was acquired by LinkedIn in 2015.[5][6]
In March 2021, it acquired the Auto Text Expander Chrome extension to accelerate user acquisition.[7] In June 2022, Magical was named Product of the Day and Product of the week on Product Hunt.[8] In 2022 entered the Business Insider lists of 27 most promising consumer startups of 2022 according to VCs and 43 startups to bet your career on.[9] On March 2nd, 2023, it implemented an AI feature leveraging OpenAI technology.[10]
Overview
Magical offers a suite of products that leverage artificial intelligence to automate web-based data entry, extraction, and manipulation. Its flagship product, the Magical Browser Extension, allows users to automate repetitive tasks.[11] This extension has over 500,000 users and has been positively reviewed by users on the Chrome Web Store.[12] The company secured $6 million in seed funding in September 2020 and in June 2022, it raised $35 million in a Series A round to further its expansion efforts.[13]
