XFone is a mobile device developed by SageTea Inc., a Canadian technology company based in Ottawa and Gatineau, Canada.[1] XFone is a Linux device capable of running Docker, Yacht, and Android simultaneously. The device operates on an enhanced version of Ubuntu Touch optimized for business, enabling kernel-level updates and complete control of the hardware.[1]

The XFone is built upon a modified version of the Google Pixel 3A. It harnesses the power of Linux's Advanced Packaging Tool (APT) and features a SIM card slot for connectivity and phone number assignment. Additionally, the XFone can be controlled using a remote keyboard, mouse, and display.[2]

XFone is built on the foundations of Linux. Users have access to the underlying source code, allowing them to review, modify, and enhance the software, which facilitates swift detection and resolution of security vulnerabilities.[3]

Hardware

It incorporates various connectivity technologies such as GSM, CDMA, HSPA, LTE, and 5G, ensuring reliable network compatibility. the size of the phone is 163 x 74.7 x 9 mm (6.42 x 2.94 x 0.35 in) and a weight of 190 g (6.70 oz).[4]

Its display boasts an IPS LCD panel with a 90Hz refresh rate. The screen size measures 6.49 inches, screen-to-body ratio of approximately 83.5%. The display resolution stands at 1080 x 2400 pixels, offering a pixel density of around 406 ppi. Furthermore, the Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection ensures durability.[4]

Running on the Android 10 operating system with OxygenOS 10.5, the device utilizes the Qualcomm SM6350 Snapdragon 690 5G chipset, based on an 8 nm manufacturing process. It incorporates an octa-core CPU, comprising two Kryo 560 Gold cores clocked at 2.0 GHz and six Kryo 560 Silver cores clocked at 1.7 GHz. The graphics processing is handled by the Adreno 619L GPU.[4]

In terms of memory, the phone includes 128GB of internal storage coupled with 6GB of RAM. It also supports microSDXC cards for expandable storage. The device employs UFS 2.1 technology.[4]

The main camera setup features a quad-camera system. It consists of a 64 MP wide lens with an aperture of f/1.8, PDAF, and a pixel size of 0.8µm. Additionally, it incorporates an 8 MP ultrawide lens with a 119° field of view, a 2 MP depth sensor, and a 2 MP macro lens. The camera setup is equipped with features like LED flash, HDR, and panorama. It supports video recording at 4K@30fps and 1080p@30/60/120fps, with gyro-EIS stabilization. The front-facing camera is a 16 MP lens with an f/2.1 aperture, supporting HDR and recording videos at 1080p@30/60fps with gyro-EIS stabilization.[4]

The device offers a 3.5mm headphone jack. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.1 with A2DP and LE, GPS with support for multiple satellite systems (L1+L5), GLONASS, GALILEO, and BDS. It also supports NFC technology and features a USB Type-C 2.0 port with OTG support.[4]

The device is equipped with sensors, including a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, accelerometer, proximity sensor, and compass.[4]

Powering the device is a non-removable 4300 mAh Li-Po battery, which supports 30W wired charging.[4]

The phone is available in the Midnight Ice color variant. In terms of performance, it achieves an AnTuTu score of 279,579 (v8), GeekBench score of 1,848 (v5.1), and GFXBench score of 13fps (ES 3.1 onscreen). The loudspeaker performance is measured at -25.8 LUFS, and the battery life has an endurance rating of 99 hours.[4]
