Biography:Jaafar Jotheri

Jaafar Hazma Abdulhussein Jotheri is an Iraqi geomorphologist. Currently an assistant professor of archaeology at the University of Al-Qadisiyah, Jotheri has published over 20 articles on ancient near east archaeology and excavations. Jotheri's current research focus is on "the landscape of ancient Iraq and the ancient rivers, marshes, canals and irrigation systems".[1] Jotheri received his Ph. D from Durham University, UK, in 2016. The thesis for his Ph. D was over "Holocene avulsion history of the Euphrates and Tigris Rivers in the Mesopotamian Floodplain".[2]
