InCtrl5 is an installation logger for Windows (versions above Windows XP must run it in XP compatibility mode [1]).

Description

InCtrl5 is the fifth version from the InCtrl series. It monitors the changes that are made in the system after a new software is installed and/or run for the first time, thus enabling users to troubleshoot any problems that come up.

As there is only a minority of portable Windows applications, most applications record data in the Registry. Some (usually older ones) even update the system's INI files or other essential text files. However, some such applications don't have uninstallers. Many others do but it doesn't always precisely reverse the effects of the install utility. InCtrl5's logs can be used further to reach a precise reversion.

The logs can also help to manually uninstall programs which got stuck and for some reason can not be directly uninstalled.
