Brenandendron frondosum is a plant in the family Asteraceae, native to tropical Africa.

Description

Brenandendron frondosum (also known as Vernonia frondosa) of the Composite, or Daisy Family (Compositae, or Asteraceae), grows as a shrub or small tree, measuring up to 20 feet (6 m) tall, with a trunk girth of about 1 ft (0.3 m). The sessile leaves measure up to 3 ft (1 m) long and twenty inches (51 centimeters in width.[2] Inflorescences feature purple flowers.[3]

Distribution and habitat

Brenandendron frondosum is native to Ivory Coast, Nigeria and Cameroon.[1] Its habitat is in forest clearings.[3]
