Applied Intuition is an American software company founded by Qasar Younis and Peter Ludwig in 2017, which develops simulation and infrastructure tooling for the development of autonomous vehicles.

The company is headquartered in Mountain View, California with offices in Detroit, Tokyo, Seoul, and Munich.[2][3]

History

Younis and Ludwig met while working at Google on the Google Maps team where Younis was working as a group product manager, and Ludwig as a product manager and engineer, before Younis left to join YCombinator in 2014.[4] Younis and Ludwig remained in contact and started Applied Intuition in January of 2017.

Applied Intuition began by developing software for autonomy developers to test and validate software for autonomous vehicles in simulation, before growing their product offerings to support engineering workflows across advanced driver-assistance systems.

In September of 2019, Applied Intuition raised $40 million in Series B funding, led by General Catalyst and including Andreessen Horowitz, Kleiner Perkins, Lux Capital, Floodgate, and La Famiglia, among others.[6]
