Airalo is a US-based global eSIM marketplace.[1][2] It provides eSIMs through its apps,[3][4] enabling internet access in 200 countries and regions.[5][6][7]

History

Airalo is a US-based startup founded in 2019 by digital entrepreneurs Abraham Burak and Bahadir Ozdemir.[8][9] In 2019, Airalo secured $1.9 million in seed funding from Antler and Sequoia Capital.[10] In 2021, it secured $5 million in Series A financing,[11][10] followed by $60 million Series B financing round in 2023, led by e& Capital, the venture arm of e&, with participation from Antler Elevate, Liberty Global, Rakuten Capital, Singtel Innov8, Surge, Orange, T Capital (the venture arm of Deutsche Telecom), KPN Ventures, Telefónica Ventures and I2BF Global Ventures.[12][13][14][15][16][17]

As of 2024, the Airalo app has 10 million users and is available in 53 languages.[18][19][20][21][22]
