The Faculty of History and the Cultural Heritage of the Church (Facoltà di Storia e Beni Culturali della Chiesa) is one of the constitutional faculties of the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome founded in 1932.[1]

Structure

The Faculty is divided into two departments and organises teaching and research in the history and cultural heritage of the Catholic Church with the aim to form professors and researchers in the field.

Curriculum

The Faculty of History and the Cultural Heritage of the Church has three cycles: the Baccalaureate, the Licentiate, and the Doctorate.[2]

The First Cycle - Baccalaureate

The first cycle lasts three years (180 ECTS) and is obligatory for all ordinary students. The first cycle concludes with the conferral or the academic title: Baccalaureate in History and Cultural Heritage.

The Second Cycle - Licentiate

The Second Cycle is structured into two Programs and lasts two years (120 ECTS). The first Program concerns the History of the Church, while the second concerns the Cultural Heritage of the Church. Each Section has its own proper academic title: License in History and License in the Cultural Heritage.

The Third Cycle - Doctorate

The Third Cycle is structured into two Programs and lasts four years (1+3). Each Program results with its own proper academic title or rather, Doctorate in History and Doctorate in the Cultural Heritage.
