St Olave's School is the junior school to St Peter's School, a co-educational independent boarding and day school located in the England City of York, with extensive grounds on the banks of the River Ouse. It was founded by Reverend Henry Andrew Wilson in 1867 and named after its original site of St Olave’s House in Marygate. The school was acquired by St Peter's in 1901.[1]
History
The main senior school, St Peter's was founded in the England City of York by St Paulinus of York in the year 627.
Structure
The school offers a continuity of education from the Clifton Pre-preparatory School (ages 3–8), to St Olave’s School (ages 8–13) and through to St Peter's School (ages 13–18) where there is also a successful Sixth Form.
Campus
St Olave's is located on the Lower Campus of the School, closer to the banks of the River Ouse than the senior school which runs along the main road of Bootham in the centre of York.
Master
The head of St Olave's is referred to as the school Master, whilst the head of senior school St Peter's is referred to as the Head Master.
The Master of St Olave's is Andy Falconer,[2], he is also on the University of York's Department of Archaeology Advisory Board.[3]
Community Engagement
St Olave's hosts York Town Jitsu Club[4], a member of The Jitsu Foundation.[5]
