Jhatar Kathi is a Bengali Language term referring Jhata (Broom in English) and Kathi is a thin flexible fiber stick that is derived from the long slender leaves of a coconut tree after drying it. It is generally used in the rural parts of India for making brooms for sweeping and cleaning purposes. Unlike a broomstick it does not have a stick attached to it. It's generally half the size of a broomstick.
