The first edition of this text: Dictionary of National Biography. London: Smith, Elder & Co. 1885–1900.
Usage
Minimum:
{{DNBfirst|wstitle=}}
Common:
{{DNBfirst|last=|first=|wstitle=|volume=|page=|pages=|display=}}
Parameter description:
- wstitle or title. Required.
- wstitle: DNB article name on Wikisource or
- title: DNB article name (can be coupled with url=)
- last: Surname of author.
- first: Firstname(s) of author.
- volume: Volume in which the entry appears. Used to generate the year and editor information.
- page or pages: First page and optional last page: e.g. 5–7.
- ref: defaults to none
- mode: defaults to cs1 ({{cite book}} style), but can be set to cs2 ({{citation}} style) — effects element separator etc.
Two none standard parameters:
- display=text — It will display the text on the wikipedia page masking the content of the wstitle= parameter.
- short=x — to reduce what is displayed.
