Afghanobuthus is a little known monotypic genus of pale yellow psammophilic scorpions. The genus contains a single species, Afghanobuthus naumanni, which is endemic to Afghanistan. [2]

The adults grow to 25 millimetres (1 in) - 27.5 millimetres (1 in) in length, with pale yellow carapace, mesosoma, metasoma and appendages. The eyes are surrounded in black and they have pale reddish aculeus (stingers) and chelicerae (jaws). The ventral surface and sternites are also pale yellow.[3]
