RoseHosting is an American privately-owned web hosting company from St. Louis, Missouri.[1] RoseHosting offers Linux-based virtual private servers and cloud hosting at their Data Center in St. Louis, Missouri. It was the first company in the world to offer commercial Linux virtual servers back in 2001.[2][3]
History
From 2003 - 2008, RoseHosting helped develop the Linux VServer virtualization project by providing server resources for development along with using Linux VServer’s software platform. RoseHosting later transitioned from Linux VServer to OpenVZ in July 2008 and then to KVM in March 2015.[4][5]
In 2012, RoseHosting launched Custom VPS hosting plans that allowed users to choose the resources of their hosting plans based on their needs.[6][7][8]
In 2013, RoseHosting launched a VPS Hosting affiliate program, which allowed users to become partners with the company and earn continuous recurring income.[9]
In 2015, RoseHosting partnered with Genuitec and became the exclusive cloud provider for their Secure Delivery Center delivery hub software solution in the cloud. This is when SDC Hub finally became available as a service in the cloud.[10]
In 2016, RoseHosting developed and released its own solution for cloud server automation and software provisioning, the OCI (One Click Install) cloud servers.[11]
In 2017, Cloudron partnered with RoseHosting and announced that their control panel will now fully support RoseHosting's VPS services.[12]
RoseHosting works together with communities such as WordCamps and the Linux Virtual Server community. In 2017 and 2019, RoseHosting sponsored several US WordCamps.[13][14]
