Separated Sound Zone (SSZ, Korean: 독립음장 제어 시스템) is audio control technology developed by Hyundai and Kia.[1][2]

Details

Introduced on August 12, 2018, SSZ technology creates and controls different acoustic fields in a car allowing each passenger and the driver to hear isolated sounds.[3] This is possible with optimized speaker layout, an algorithm that limits the impact of reflected wave and a system that controls audio output. The system also limits navigation or alarm sounds, which are not necessary for passengers, to just the driver.[4]
