CreditMantri is a technology-driven credit management service provider based in Chennai.[1] It was founded by three ex-bankers – Ranjit Punja, R Sudarshan, and Gowri Mukherjee.[2]

Background

Launched in 2012, CreditMantri helps borrowers secure loans from its partner financers.[3] It performs a detailed credit analysis to determine the credit standing of a particular user.[4]

In 2016, CreditMantri tied up with global data and insights company Equifax to launch a new service that enables customers to access their credit score and history in real-time.[5]

As of January 2018, the service provider claims to have serviced more than 3 million users with over 45 lending partners, including public, private, foreign banks and NBFCs.[6]

Services

CreditMantri is a multi-services platform and offers customers the option to apply for personal loan, home loan, auto loan, gold loan, loan against property, business loan, education loan, two-wheeler loan, and short-term loan.[3]

The platform provides consumers with information about credit scores and ways to improve credit health. It also claims to assist customers with resolutions for past issues and find products that best match with their credit profile.[7]

Funding

CreditMantri raised USD 2.5 million in Series A round of funding from IDG Ventures India, Elevar Equity and Accion Venture Lab in 2015.[6]

In February 2017, the credit management services company raised USD 7.6 million as part of Series B round of funding from Accion Frontier Inclusion Fund, managed by Quona Capital along with Newid Capital. The round also saw participation from existing investors, Elevar Equity, IDG Partners, and Accion Venture Lab.[8]
