Multiverse (formerly WhiteHat) is an EdTech start-up that provides apprenticeships in the United Kingdom and expanded to the United States in 2021,[1] specialising in data and tech[2]. It was founded in 2016 by Euan Blair.[3][4]

Programmes

Multiverse delivers 9 apprenticeship programmes that range from Level 3 (the equivalent of two A-Levels), to Level 6 (the equivalent of a university degree)[5]

The company was judged to be Outstanding in its most recent inspection by Ofsted.[6][7]

Apprenticeships are delivered at companies including Google, Verizon, ClassPass,[8] GroupM[9] and others.

In an interview with the Evening Standard, Blair explained Multiverse offered apprentices as an alternative to university, including through social clubs.[10]

As of October 2021, it trained more than 5000 apprentices.[11][12]

History

Multiverse was founded as WhiteHat in 2016 by Euan Blair and Sophie Adelman.[13]

The firm raised $4 million seed round in 2018 and another $16m in a Series A round in July 2019.[14][15]

In January 2021, WhiteHat was renamed to Multiverse.[16] CEO Euan Blair explained the name change was to reflect the fact that “anything is possible".[17]

In September 2021, Multiverse raised a $130m Series C raise at a valuation of $875m.[18][19]
