History
According to the manufacturer's official history, Pratley Adhesives:[1] "The product was developed as an insulator and also as an adhesive agent for fixing brass terminals which were located inside cast iron junction boxes".[1]
This versatile putty originally called "Pratley's Plastic Putty" was carried by the Apollo 11 Eagle landing craft to the moon for its fixative qualities.[1][2] It has also been used to halt the cracking in one of the Golden Gate Bridge's main supports.[1]
