Amna Zaidi (born 5 January 1980 in London) is a British Chartered Accountant, Chartered Manager, business executive, author, and keynote speaker. She specializes in business transformation, strategic leadership, and negotiation advisory. Since 2005, she has led large-scale transformation programs, managing multi-million-pound financial and operational budgets across global organisations.[1]
She has worked with major financial institutions and consultancies, including NatWest/Royal Bank of Scotland, Lloyds HBOS, Deloitte, and Deutsche Bank. Zaidi is the founder of AZ Strategic Solutions Ltd, providing advisory services in transformation, leadership development, and executive coaching. She is also a Freeman of the City of London and a member of the Chartered Accountants’ Livery.[2]
Early life and education
Zaidi was born on 5 January 1980 in London, United Kingdom. She attended Brunel University of London, where she earned a bachelor's degree in business and accounting in 2001. She later became a Chartered Accountant in 2003 after obtaining certification from the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW).[1]
Career
Zaidi began her career in finance and business transformation at Allied Irish Bank, where she worked on Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) compliance and finance control improvements. She later held audit roles at Deloitte & Touche and BDO Stoy Hayward before transitioning into business transformation and leadership roles at major financial institutions.[2]
From 2012 to 2020, Zaidi worked at NatWest Group (formerly Royal Bank of Scotland), leading finance transformation projects, redesigning operating models, and integrating core systems. She also held leadership roles at Deutsche Bank and Lloyds Banking Group, managing complex system integrations and strategic initiatives.[3]
Since 2022, Zaidi has served as a member of the audit registration committee of ICAEW, overseeing audit firms and maintaining professional standards in the audit industry.
Zaidi is also the founder of AZ Strategic Solutions Ltd, a consultancy firm providing strategic advisory services in transformation, leadership training, and executive coaching.[1]
Public speaking and thought leadership
Zaidi is an international keynote speaker, known for addressing topics related to leadership, transformation, and negotiation. She has spoken at corporate events and international conferences, including the Oxford Leadership Conference in Dubai, where she shared insights alongside political and business leaders.[4]
