Dorothy McEwen Kildall, often known as Dorothy McEwen,[1] (1943–2005) was an American microcomputer industry pioneer. She was married to Gary Kildall and cofounded Digital Research, managing its marketing and daily operations. She was directly involved in IBM's famous unsuccessful attempt in 1980 to license CP/M for the IBM Personal Computer.[2][3] They separated in 1983, and later divorced. McEwen died in 2005 from brain cancer.[4]
