Biography:Maurice Mobetie
Maurice "Momo" Mobetie (born 25 March 1979, in Basel) is a Swiss entrepreneur, nightclub owner, and event organizer known for his involvement in the European VIP nightlife scene. He is the founder and co-owner of the Flamingo Club in Zurich and has worked as a promoter and organizer of exclusive events featuring international celebrities such as Snoop Dogg, Rihanna, and Paris Hilton.[1]
Early life and education
Mobetie was born in Basel, Switzerland, on 25 March 1979, to French parents from Guadeloupe and Italian parents from Naples. He grew up fluent in six languages, embodying a diverse cultural heritage and strong values of hard work and positivity. His upbringing was marked by personal challenges, including his parents' divorce and disciplinary issues that led to multiple school expulsions and a three-year stint in juvenile detention.[1]
As of 2025, Mobetie is pursuing a Doctorate in Business Administration at Clermont School of Business.[2]
Career
Mobetie began his career in the nightlife industry in the early 2000s. Around 2010, he revitalized the Flamingo Club in Zurich, transforming it from a salsa venue into a hotspot for urban and black music. The club quickly gained popularity among younger crowds and celebrities. The hashtag "#flämelauftimmer" (Flamingo is always lit) became popular among patrons, some of whom even tattooed the club’s logo on their wrists.[1]
In addition to running the Flamingo Club, Mobetie has organized high-profile events across Europe and abroad, including in Ibiza, London, Paris, Milan, Los Angeles, New York, Miami, and St. Tropez. He founded Goodfellaz Entertainment, managing events and bookings with celebrities such as Beyoncé, Jay-Z, Rihanna, and Andrea Bocelli.[2]
Mobetie’s success culminated in his ownership of Club Flamingo, which he sold at its peak after generating tens of millions in revenue. He moved to South Beach, Miami to work as a VIP host at the famous LIV nightclub, before launching Movida, an Dubai-based company offering entertainment and F&B consulting.[3]

He also became the exclusive importer and distributor of PodSalt e-cigarettes in Italy, establishing over 10,000 points of sale within a year before exiting the business.
Mobetie is also the creator of an MTV reality series titled "Momo's World," which showcases his lifestyle and entrepreneurial endeavors. The show was expected to air in multiple countries across Europe.[1]
Media attention and personal life
Mobetie has received significant media attention for his luxurious lifestyle, often seen partying with celebrities and showcasing his wealth on social media. However, he has publicly dismissed rumors and criticisms regarding alleged drug dealings and financial instability, including accusations that he staged celebrity appearances for publicity.[1]
In 2015, Mobetie gained media coverage for his relationship with Dutch TV presenter Sylvie Meis. The couple began dating in March 2015 and made several public appearances, including at the Cannes Film Festival. The relationship ended in August 2015, with both parties speaking to the press.[4][5][6]
Mobetie was also rumored to be romantically linked with Argentine model and TV personality Belén Rodríguez, after they were seen together in Ibiza. Reports described him as a "multi-millionaire entrepreneur of Latin origins living in Zurich" and "former flame" of both Rihanna and Sylvie Meis.[7][8]
Mobetie later announced plans to release a reality show and hinted at sharing more details about his past relationship with Meis.[9]
Mobetie later relocated to Dubai, where he expanded his business ventures across various industries.

Known for his flamboyant style and charismatic personality, Mobetie presents himself as a successful businessman who thrives in high-energy, high-status environments. Despite controversies and negative press, he maintains that he is misunderstood and unfairly targeted by envious critics.[1]
