Monty C. M. Metzger (Born 1979) is a German entrepreneur, futurologist and investor.[1] He is the founder of LCX AG, a blockchain company based in Liechtenstein.[2][3]

Personal life and education

Metzger was born in Munich, Germany. He studied eCommerce Marketing at BAW (Bayerische Akademie für Werbung und Marketing), graduated in 2001 and Business Administration at Graduate School of Business Administration Zurich, graduated in 2007. Furthermore he attended executive education programs at Harvard Business School.[citation needed]

Career

Metzger has been an investor and businessman for years. He founded his first company in 1998. [4] In 2003, he founded a trend consultancy firm with offices in New York City , Tokyo, Beijing and Munich.[5] He worked with Deutsche Bank for some years. Under his leadership, Deutsche Bank opened its first virtual online branch.

Metzger was a pioneer in the field of social media and blogging. He started vlogging in 2010 and did interviews of personalities and business executives, such as Jimmy Wales in 2009,[6] or Jonney Shih, Chairman at ASUS, 2010.[7] He has advised numerous company CEOs and executives. He has also given lectures on Digital Future and Digital Transformation in Germany and around the world.[8]

Metzger is a frequent keynote speaker, he had been speaking at many international conferences, such as the World Economic Forum,[9] Caspian Week,[10] Spark Conference[11] and is a contributor at the Skoll World Forum.[12]

After he sold his company in 2008, Metzger has been supporting tech startups as a Business Angel, Investor, advising family offices and Investment Firms as well as consulting corporations on innovation and investment activities.[citation needed] Monty has deep understanding on technology, finance, trends and startups and has been in charge of general management, business development, M&A, and investments. Metzger’s private family office is called Metzger Capital.[13] He had been member of the Jury of the Success for Future Award.[14]

In 2014, Metzger founded the venture capitalist known as Digital Leaders Ventures (DLV).[15] At DLV, Metzger was initiator of the FIA Smart Cities Initiative, a global startup contest which was held alongside the Formula E racing series. DLV, in teamwork with the FIA, Formula E and Julius Baer had been identifying, supporting and investing in startups building the future of mobility, smart cities and road safety.[16]

Metzger is Chairman at DigitalLeaders.co, a company which is taking chief executive managers, corporate groups and government delegations on customized learning journeys and tech tours to technology centers such as Silicon Valley, Tel Aviv, Beijing, Bangalore or Tokyo.

In 2018, he founded LCX, a blockchain company based in Liechtenstein.[17][18][19] Together with Wesley Snipes, Metzger is working on a blockchain film project and plans to finance film productions by selling and issuing security tokens. Newsweek and the Banking Association Liechtenstein, published an interview with Metzger, about his vision of the future of tokenized digital assets.[20]

Metzger is a partner with the Venture Capital Fund Digital Leaders Ventures (DLV). He is also a member World Economic Forum.[21]

Metzger is the author of a book titled Mobile Future @mocom2020.[22]
